Elizabeth Edgerly, PhD - Alzheimer’s Association PI

Dr. Edgerly is Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Association, Northern California & Northern Nevada as well as a clinical psychologist and published researcher in the field of Alzheimer's and related dementias.

Dr. Edgerly joined the Association in 1995 as chief program officer, managing care and support programs for persons with dementia, their families and professionals and acting as lead on multiple federal, state and local grants. In 2016 Dr. Edgerly became the chapter’s executive director, overseeing 11 offices throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. In 2017 Elizabeth was promoted to act as regional leader for the Alzheimer’s Association, overseeing her chapter as well as two others serving Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.

Her work focuses on improving the timely detection and diagnosis of dementia and access to quality care and treatments for all impacted. Dr. Edgerly serves on the IMPACT committee overseeing implementation of Governor Newsom’s Master Plan on Aging in the state of California. In 2013 the Women’s HealthCare Executives named Elizabeth Woman of the Year for her work on behalf of thousands of individuals living with Alzheimer’s and related disorders.
